I started this series of paintings at the end of 2022. I used a combination of layering, distressing and blending.
In this series, I’ve experimented with a new way to use gestures using different movements and ways to put the colours on the canvas.
My work is generally based on a feeling or the tempo of the music I listened to at the time of painting. Different genres influence the way I paint.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Drk Abstract was founded by the artist Yamina Laidani. I produce abstract art using acrylic and spray paint which is inspired by graffiti and street art. I use multifaceted techniques and textures. My paintings are the reflection of my feelings, not just emotionally, but how I connect with tools, the canvas and the paints.
The colours and textures reflect this making each work unique and different from the one before. I usually work on medium-sized canvases.
I also produce unique prints on A4 and A5 high-quality paper. Recently I’ve been using different surfaces which include wooden skateboards.
